J Givvons Electrical Limited were commissioned to complete the full design and build electrical installation at the Old Halifax High School, into a high specification apartment building. The outline brief was to work with the developers to achieve a modern design which would not discredit the original features of the historic listed building, but which would highlight and enhance them.

Works undertaken:
Commissioning and liaison with YEDL on the installation of the new substation
LV distribution and infrastructure
Supply installation and commissioning of full electrical installtion
Design and installation of fire alarm, door access, Television, Sky, phone lines and smoke ventillation.

J Givvons Electrical Limited completed the LV infrastructure and landlords services to Retail, Commercial and Residential areas to the east side of Paradise Street, under contract to Balfor Kilpatrick. Due to the size and nature of the project we had to work to extremely tight schemes to ensure the whole project ran smoothly, therefore liaison between all trades was crucial.

JGEL were commissioned to carry out the full electrical package to include design, installation and commissioning of the LV infrastructure, lighting, small power, fire alarm, and specialist sub-contractors, with regards to security, CCTV, staff attack system and door access.

Kitchen and Restaurant Refurbishment

JGEL were required to upgrade the LV infrastructure by means of modifying the existing hospital electrical cubicle and installing a dedicated section board to service the new kitchen and restaurant areas. Initially, to enable the continuation of food service at the hospital, JGEL were required to install full electrical requirements to a temporary kitchen within the restaurant area, before work could commence on the hospital kitchen refurbishment.
